My Work
Amazing what a few days of illness can do for a person. Seriously. Sure, I spent much of that time watching anime and Good Eats (finished season seven!), but I also spent a fair amount of it doing nothing. Just thinking. And that’s a very good thing. Started re-reading Steven Pressfield’s The War of Art last night. What an amazing book. It’s been another good swift kick in the seat of my pants. I’ve let Resistance whittle down my work on my novel. I’ve accepted rationalizations and let time slip by. No more. Today, now, I choose to work on that which furthers my purpose in life. Musings on Media Deprivation
And I’m back online. Boy, that was an experience. By the end, I craved more media. I wanted easy stimulation. And that worries me. Stimulation is easy, sure, and it’s not necessarily bad, but it’s not necessarily good, either. I wonder if I wouldn’t be better off with fewer distractions.
